FIVE MINUTE ACTION OR
FIVE MINUTES REVERSED (2024)
Installation (60min).
Four different states of a live image.
Action (5min).
Repetition.
The installation is working with different perspectives such as space, time and movement. Through four different videos imitating a live view of the same situation, there is a shift in the perception of time, as none of the videos were shot at the same time. Between the sets, the sound of rewinding the tapes is recorded.
It’s a state of observing, watching and being observed.

COME ON IN THE WATER IS FINE (2024)

3 x 4m
4 TVs
4 Hi8 Camcorders,
3 Videos 60min
1 Live Camera
4 Tripods

Arduino
INSTALLATION SETUP
1, 2, 3
1 hour Tape
Recording of the same set of a 5 minute movement, at the end of each circle the blue screen and the sound of the rewinding tape are played, so that it seems as if the cameras are playing the same set all over again.
Each camera is placed at the position where the original video was recorded.
4
Live Camera
The viewer has to enter the centre/standing point of the installation to realise that the camera is projecting live. Through the placement of the camera and the transmission to the screen, it’s not possible to see oneself being recorded, but it does create an awareness of being recorded and being part of the timeframe that the installation displays.
5
Projection
Filmed on location, indicating that the actual situation takes place in the same space, but in a different time perspective.
Arduino
Acts as a remote control with infrared signal to retrieve the tapes after an hour and to start the videos at the same time.
