SHIFTING THE FOCUS OF THE SPACE (2021)
The space within the space describes a study of the gallery itself. By adding and removing different perspectives, the focus of the entire space changes. The inner state cannot be fully perceived and remains the starting point, a thought that changes the perception of the space. Through this work, I aim to make space an active participant in perception, fostering a dialogue around observation, limitation, and the hidden dimensions within a seemingly neutral environment.
The video above shows a live stream of the interior view of the new space. The second video shows the view into the gallery from the first floor window. It is pre-recorded and the window remains closed so that the view into the space created cannot be experienced.
In the video, the viewer sees the perspective of the window on the first floor and the view into the created space. he is thus indirectly invited to look outside the gallery through the window on the first floor, but then realises that the view remains closed. However, the movement of the visitors under the plane and the created air movements make it recognisable that a camera is live. The state of the created space can only be seen via the two-dimensional video.
